“The SITE Southeast Education Summit at Point Clear, Alabama, promised 2.5 days of educational sessions; social media strategies, future trends, positive thinking, networking with industry peers, and charitable endeavours that benefitted Penelope House; a local charity that provides safety, protection, and support to victims of domestic violence. A real grassroots event, created by industry volunteers, and all of this set in a location that is relatively untapped by the MICE industry. This event allowed me make new connections, benefit from self-development learning, observe a unique event format in a location previously unvisited, which, in turn, inspired and motivated me for a new year and a new decade.
